Keeping a scrapbook is indeed a fun way to preserve one's special memories. It could be a baby scrapbook, a grade school journal, middle school moments, college days memorabilia, family photo collection, and even a sweetheart's journal. All are perfect examples of collective keepsakes, usually done by sentimental and memory-keeper peeps who want to cherish every little detail of the important moments of their lives. For instance, I have a girl friend back in middle school who carefully and artistically kept a scrapbook of her relationship with our other guy friend.
Both of my friends were very sweet to each other, and most of the people around them say that they looked good together. However, when the time has come for us to go to our respective colleges and universities, the two couple faced a very unhappy separation. What my girl friend did was to create a lovely scrapbook of her and our guy friend. She collected all their pictures, letters, movie tickets, small tokens, gift receipts, chocolate wrappers, and a whole lot of mushy, yet sweet and thoughtful memories of the two of them together. When she showed us her finished journal, the rest of our friends and I were touched when we read the last quote she included at the end of the journal that says "For you are the first friend I ever had, and the best friend I ever can have. And no one can respect and love you too much to please me." The quote was from
Charles Dickens, and below the quotation is their picture together during our highschool graduation rites. Our guy friend was really pleased and thrilled with the happy memories she collected for him, and he was also very much touched by the simple quote she included at the end of the journal.
Scrapbook making is not just photo, colorful and artistic designs, as well as other memorabilia collection. Including
artistic and thoughtful quotations or messages, even if it's already cliche, can be a warm way to show that special someone that you really care.
