I recently went to the
great history museum. I saw so many great antiques. There were so many important and meaningful images in the museum that depicted the evolution of our society and history. I also got so interested with the ancient artifacts and the ancient scripts written on ancient paper. I suddenly grabbed the idea and applied it directly to my scrapbooking. I think that it's a unique and a wonderful idea to create a scrapbook that looks like an ancient and antique scrapbook!
So, when I got home, I immediately started to work. I was really inspired by the
meaningful images thing that I saw at the museum. So, I got my scrapbook papers and I chose the egg-shell papers for that nice off-white color effect. The best way to make an instant "antique" type page is to burn the edges of the paper. That way, the paper would look very old because of its burnt edges effect. But, you should not use the burnt paper as the page per se. The best way to make the paper last is to attach it to the scrapbook page. You should use a black paper as the base page. That way, your burnt paper would stand out.
Then, you can simply write on the paper. I suggest that you write on a cursive style. Ancient scripture is usually done in
cursive writing, anyway. You can even make your photographs into black and white. That would look really great with your burnt paper. It would look very classic and ancient. It's all up to you if you want to add something else to your fabulous antique scrapbook!
